@dreautomotiv E30 325is Project - PART ONE of our assessment focuses on the Body Work and Exterior Cosmetic. We were aware that the vehicle was repainted some years ago in Cape Town. At first glance both Andre and us agreed that the colour appeared to be too dark after mixing a batch of paint to the OE BMW factory colour code, the same was confirmed. Overall the car present well. After our paint thickness readings a few areas of concern appeared and Andre approved that we start the paint removal process. What we found was disappointing to say the least - historical rust repair was performed with fibre glass and body filler which didn’t resolve the issue but rather allow the rust to spread under the fibre glass. These patch repairs were conducted on a few places around the vehicle. The Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series, by contrast, seemed wholly out of reach. AMG took the elegant and sophisticated CLK-Class coupe and turned it into a road-legal DTM racer, complete with racing bucket seats, carbon fiber trim, bulging fenders and, oh yeah, Mercedes’ M156 6.2-liter V8 — one of the best engines ever built, German or otherwise. The coupe’s 500 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque seemed ridiculous by 2007 standards We assisted our client to source and inspect the vehicle before acquisition. We have had a true love hate relationship with this build 🤭, but it was all worth it in the end when we received positive feedback from the customer when he took delivery. The customer wanted a set of rep Alpina wheels as it brought back a lot of nostalgia, of him owning the car in the 90’s - his got his OE wheels hiding safely away. This F20 120i was towed into our Mechanical Workshop which is accredited by the Motor Industry Workshop Association, (MIWA) constituent association of the Retail Motor Industry (RMI) and Automobile Association of SA (AA) by the customer’s aftermarket warranty company. After careful diagnosis it was identified that the oil filter housing was cracked and a turbo feed line was leaking. The BMW E53 X5 is the first generation BMW X5 mid-size luxury crossover SAV(Sports Activity Vehicle). The vehicle was the first SAV ever produced by BMW and this specific example is still in immaculate condition. The owner wanted a fresh new look with a few modern touches on the interior while maintaining the overall look of the vehicle as his extremely proud of first generation X5.
